The polypharmacy review (PPR) is intended for patients who must follow a treatment involving the simultaneous use of four or more medications. The costs of this service, which is linked to the dispensing of medicines, are not covered by health insurance.
During a confidential consultation, you review with your pharmacist which medications have been prescribed and for which conditions. The medical prescriptions are examined to determine which dose of each medication should be taken and at what time.
Using a weekly pill organizer, to help ensure regular medication intake and proper treatment follow‑up, may be covered by basic health insurance on a flat‑rate basis when prescribed by your doctor.
The preparation of your weekly pill organizer can be carried out by the pharmacy and is reimbursed by basic health insurance, but it also requires a prior prescription from your doctor.
